listen alla y'all, it's a sabatage!

since returning to vermont, we have seen friends which is great! we can walk to work, or ride our bikes that we rescued from the barn at the farm. we can do a lot of things (laundry--in the house, for example). but there are some things we cannot do. here they are:
we cannot take a fast, hot shower. the water system is quirky. you must let the water run for a good 5 minutes to guarantee a hot shower. otherwise, cold.
we cannot take the box springs to our mattress up the stairs. the way the house is set up, it just doesn't go up because of the banister/ceiling combination.
we cannot cook dinner. our pots are somewhere in the barn. we must get them.
we cannot go to the bank. we are working until well after the bank closes.
we cannot go to dinner after nine anymore. nothing is open then except bars.
until today, we could not get on the internet. i thought this was the most sabotage--ing thing because i need to do my chemistry, and being that it is an online class, the internet is key in actually taking the class.
also we cannot play the rock band. the big box we sent, is not here yet. it also has the wii. so no smooth moves, either. what are we to do with ourselves? the horror!
all this aside, i am happy to be here. and the kitties love their new digs. it is pretty sweet to be able to hang out with rob and quinn and have allison and the boys come visit at work. that never happened in california. and obviously, the internet is back on now. and we have cable tv for the first time in years. we get to go to ben and laura's tomorrow for a party. we have eaten all the cupcakes i brought home. so i guess it is time to get back to baking. and it will be nice to put that lovely pink kitchenaid mixer to work. sleeping on our bed is the most luxurious thing we have had in a while. that pleasure is not lost on the kitties or us. riding a bike is about the silliest thing i think i have done in a while. do you have any idea how ridiculous i look? so far only dustin and jack have seen me, both got a chuckle out of it. so. between that and not driving, i think it is worth it. the crew at work is pretty good. they all are happy and nice. laura is there and claudia starts tomorrow. should be fun. as for me now, i should go and take a shower. i gotta run the water a while. but i just thought i should keep you updated. love to all.
