berkeley horticultural nusery

we went to a flower shop today. i must say it was really fun. dust even picked up an application to work there. i knew so many of the plants, but it was weird, most of the plants they had as perennials, we sell as specialty annuals. i even got to see a plant called a hebe. i had heard a thing on npr about them. there are many varieties and they come from new zealand. this variety was beautiful. their six packs were for sale for $5 for most of the six's and prices went up from there. and they already had peas and bean starts. (you better get on it, jack:) ). it was nice to walk around the little garden center. the pottery for the most part was lacking, but they had a ton of roses and perenials and everything was labeled really well. also the staff was friendly and they had fish in their water garden. they also had a mini green house full of house plants. we got a pencil cactus. i took a picture.
pretty cool, huh?
